What is the best facial acne treatment?

I have a lot of blackheads on my nose, and several highly noticeable acne spots on my face. I have tried many generic brands, as well as Clean & Clear, but nothing seems to be able to work. What, from your own experience, is the best treatment for acne?

Trust me listen to what I have to tell you. I've been having acne for 6 years now… and it has gotten worse and worse each year. Like you, I've used clean and clear, nozema, stridex, those generic walmart creams, and even proactive. None of it worked.

Your acne will get worse, trust me if you don't treat it and keep breaking out it's just going to get worse. I remember before I use to pop them all summer, (broke out everyday) then another summer I would stop popping them (still broke out) nothing made my acne better. So yeah, i tried all this crap these commercials, advertising and dumb products people recommended me.

Whoever says to use proactive is dumb, it will not work for people with severe acne. Maybe people with a few but not a lot of people. I know you're probably saying no I don't want to go to the dermotaligst, but trust me you should. You tell them everything about history with acne, and they'll give you prescriptions based on what you say and the test results from other people who had acne.

The first time when I went to the dermatologist when i was 15 they doctor gave me a cleanser, astrigent, and some treniton gel. But my mom was too cheap to take me to the skin doctor so I stopped going and my acne got worse.

Now I'm 18, and went back, i don't care what my mom says, you can't simply buy products out there, or make home remidies to treat severe acne. Acne/pimples is uncontrollable, it's not caused by eating greasy food, or eating choclate. whoever says that is a dumbass, b/c i've stopped eating that and it didn't help. I researched it and pimples are caused by inflamation not by diet or what you eat. My dermatoligist even said the same thing, that eating greasy foods and sugar is a myth.

Research inflamation more, basically acne is not caused by greasy foods and bacteria. People say that but that's not the case. Infomercials say that but that's not the case. I don't want to get into detail about inflamation, so research it youself. Bacteria is only 15 percent of the cause of acne, acne is caused by serveral of factors mainly the oils in your sweat glands and skin cells. This is what i'm taking right now

Minocycline pills orally twice a day

tretin lotion for night time

treniton/benyzl peroxide for the morning

and it's only REDUCED my acne. You cannot just have a clear face in a week. Medicine like these that truely work are designed to reduce scars and minimize breakouts and over time will clear up your face. Those comercials and remidies products your friend and the average joe recomends doesn't work and won't clear your face.

Right now, I have minized my berakouts taking these medicines. But I want to wipe my breakouts completley so the doctor recomended me accutan also known as isotren. It's an oral pill which is specifically designed to reduce your sweat glands. This causes you to have less oil on your face even when you play sports you sweat less. It's a dangerous pill, so if you do go to the dermatolgist he'll make you read a pamphlet about it, and sign an authorization to take the pill. You cannot simply go out and buy these products i'm sorry but you'll have to go and have a prescription for these medications. Depending on your dermatolgist he might make go to a test lab so they can draw some blood and see if you're ok to take the pill. Because this pill will work efficiently however it has some side effects. You'll have to read it on your own. that is if you go to the dermatolgist.
